Over the years, I have had both desktop PC's and also laptops, and I will admit, I do love having the mobility and being able to be anywhere in my home and still being able to work with a laptop, but a desktop is also something I do like as well, especially since they are easier to upgrade if you need to.

Do you prefer a laptop or a desktop PC? What is the reason for your choice?

Do you think it's bad to spend too much time on the internet? Why or why not?

With AI the price of RAM has skyrocketed these past few years. RAM is now the most expensive component when it comes to computers, and because RAM prices continue to go up game consoles are now more expensive than they were when they first released six years ago. This generation of games is the only one where game consoles have gone up in price as time goes on because in the past the parts to make the consoles would go down in price. I hope one day RAM prices will get better, I don’t think it will be any time soon. Or do you think that RAM will continue to go up in price as AI improves?

Vibe coded software is software coded by AI, and I’ve noticed that there’s been a number of server software as well as forum software and themes being created by AI as of late. Would you use vibe coded software to power your community or do you not trust software completely created by AI? Personally I am all for people using AI to help them with a few tasks, but I don’t think I would trust vibe coded software to power my community. I’m afraid there would be too many bugs or vulnerabilities and the dev might not have the knowledge to fix the problems.

I started creating forums in mid 2024, and I always remember the very first forum I created. It was a general chat forum, and the only thing I can not remember is the name of the forum I chose, but I remember it being something with central at the end of it.

That forum never really took off, as I was new to running forums back then.

Running a forum is a difficult work but I find it highly enjoyable. Running a forum isn’t just about publishing posts, it also involves, SEO, GEO, AIO, Digital marketing (social media, email, ads), website management (technical works like UX, UI, speed optimization). These tasks require constant productivity, creativity, and ongoing effort. However, forum is a community of people where you get to meet and a know people from different background, which is very satisfactory.

Do you publish sponsored posts on your blog or forum? When you publish sponsored posts, do you clearly mark it as sponsored or advertorial? I maintain a couple of blogs and forums.  I sometimes publish sponsored posts, especially on my blog, and when I do I mark it sponsored. However, when I accept sponsorship,  I ensure that it is relevant and readable within my niche.

A little bit about me….I enjoy reading (a lot), spending time with my cat, watching movies, playing video games, and working on the internet. If you want to know more about me, just ask. Otherwise, I’ll see you around.

As I noted in other posts, my degree in university didn’t pay off so far. But I had gotten into internet marketing, but after a short run of success with employment blogs (around 2011) things went down as SEO got tougher - and I just didn’t have the income to succeed with marketing.

So that’s the problem with web developers making websites: They are just for fun. There’s no chance of making money from them! If people think they can make money, they are deluded.

But the world these days is a delusion, but the delusion was way worse before than now. People were deluded into thinking they could rule the world, so to speak, they could have the next successful website and make money - without having to answer to some boss or do manual labor.

If you were offered 50% on top of what you are already making, but you have to work at night only, would you take this opportunity?

Personally, I wouldn't trade my sleep for a 50% increase in salary. My health and peace are more important to me. The extra money won't make up for them.

A few years ago, I was running a news website. I started the news website because I found out that some people were earning a few hundred dollars per day. Sadly, I couldn’t bring in traffic. Therefore, I shut it down. Setting up a news website is as easy as creating a personal blog, but consistently producing fresh, accurate content is very challenging. You need many writers to update the site frequently. You need fast response times to new developments. It’s a very competitive niche and building traffic takes constant effort.

Would you hire a teen as a staff member on your forum? Why or why not?

What is your favorite app that you use on your smart phone? Why is that your favorite? How often do you use it?

So… if you could choose one video game to live in, which one would it be?

As for myself, I know the answer right away. It would be GTA, of course. Living in GTA would definitely feel like you're the main actor in a movie, there's so much to do there, and you can drive your dream cars, live in a mansion. And the best part is that if something bad happens, you'll just respawn.

I started my journey as a webmaster when I was a teenager at the age of 14. I've managed and ran a few different websites since those early days. I have now been a webmaster for 22 years now. I see myself contining my career as a webmaster for many, many, more years.

Over the years, I had so many different ideas for forums, but then I would overthink them and then would be scared to start them, believing they would flop.

This past year, though, I decided to move my BTS blog from WordPress to Xenforo and kept adding news to the site, but I also created a forum. So far, as much as I am creating content daily, I haven't gotten any members, but I do get hits, and traffic is increasing, but this forum is under a niche that may not be overly popular, as many of the BTS community tend to use social media over forums now.

Was I scared to move to Xenforo and create a BTS forum as well? Of course, but being a huge fan of BTS, it is something I am enjoying.

Have you ever had an idea for a forum but been too scared to start it?

Have you ever come across Forum Spark? What are your thoughts? I think it's the greatest free forum software and love using it,

Gizmo has informed me that I should post an introduction, and after approximately ten minutes of figuring out HOW to actually do that... I MADE IT 🤣 I’m JustASmallTownGirl 🎶 I’m from the North East of England and work in a primary school, which basically means my working day consists of little humans, lots of laughs and varying levels of organised chaos 😂 Outside of work I love music (pretty much anything I can sing badly to!! 🎶), musical theatre, cooking, the gym, walking my pooch, paddle boarding and getting out on random little adventures ♡ Chill Chat is my usual little corner of the internet, but Gizmo has been incredibly kind helping promote us over here... and has since started dangling arcades and chat rooms in front of me 😂 So apparently I have a second internet home developing lol.

My friend told me about this community a couple of days ago, and it is a thing of joy that I finally got to sign up here.

I've scanned through the section and must commend the admins for a great work that they've done building this community. The topics that I've seen were quite interesting, and I look forward to contributing my quota here.

Aside from visiting and writing on forums, I also enjoy playing video games, reading books and can also play table tennis 🏓 when my friends are around.

When it comes to how much time I spend on the internet, I would say it is anything from 6 - 8 hours a day, sometimes more if I have more to do.

How much time would you say you spend on the internet per day? Would you say it is too much, too little, or just enough for you?

I realize in the year of 2026, most people probably use their Smart Phones to work and surf (aka goof off), but I'm old school. I still prefer sitting down in my comfy gaming chair on my desktop PC with my multiple monitors (that I don't use most of the time...)

I find that it's much easier for me to creatively write using my full sized keyboard than it is to use my phone, even with Speech to Text technology. The words just don't flow on to the page when I'm not using my keyboard. Anwyay, what tech do you prefer to use?

Is technology burning you out? Do you feel it draining you on a daily basis?
