๐ŸŽฌ Toy Story 5 โ€“ Movie Review

โญ Rating: 2/5

๐ŸŽฅ About the Film

Toy Story 5 brings Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the gang back for another adventure, this time exploring the growing influence of technology on children and the challenges traditional toys face in a world increasingly dominated by screens and digital devices.

The film tackles some very relevant modern-day issues, including screen time, the impact of technology on childhood, and how bullying can take place through digital platforms. It's a message that will undoubtedly resonate with many parents and families.

๐Ÿฟ My Review

I might be in the minority here, but I just didn't enjoy Toy Story 5 as much as I hoped I would.

I understand what Pixar was trying to achieve with this instalment. The themes surrounding technology, children's screen habits and online bullying are important, particularly in today's world. There is certainly a worthwhile message at the heart of the film, and I can appreciate the intention behind it.

Unfortunately, for me, the story itself just didn't really get going. It felt like a bit of a non-starter, lacking the spark and excitement that made the earlier films so memorable. While it wasn't outright bad, I found myself struggling to get invested in the overall adventure.

For a franchise with such a strong history of emotional storytelling, memorable characters and genuinely entertaining adventures, I expected something that would leave a bigger impression. Instead, this felt like a rather unnecessary addition to the series.

I can see why others might enjoy it, especially families who appreciate the film's underlying message, but having an important message doesn't automatically make for a great movie.

๐Ÿ Final Verdict

Toy Story 5 isn't a complete disaster, but it was a disappointment for me. The message is relevant, and I respect what Pixar was aiming for, but the story simply wasn't strong enough to make this another standout entry in the franchise.

Sometimes, it's okay to let a beloved series rest rather than keep adding new chapters.

โญ My Rating: 2/5 โ€“ Not terrible, but not one I'd rush to watch again.

๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿ’ต Monetary Literacy & Mastery Foundation

You Use Money Every Day. But Do You Know How It Actually Works?

You earn it. Save it. Borrow it. Spend it.

It determines what you can afford, what your savings will buy, how much your home costs, and how far your paycheck goes.

Yet most of us were never taught one of the most important subjects of all:

Where does money come from?

Who creates it?
Why does its purchasing power change?
What happens when banks make loans?
Why do interest rates affect nearly everything?
And how does monetary policy quietly shape your financial life?

The Monetary Literacy & Mastery Foundation exists to help answer those questions.

We provide educational resources for people who want to look beneath the surface of the financial system and understand the monetary mechanics behind everyday economic life.

Explore topics including:

โ€ข How money and currency actually work
โ€ข How commercial banks create deposits through lending
โ€ข Inflation and the loss of purchasing power
โ€ข Central banking and monetary policy
โ€ข Sound money principles
โ€ข Debt, credit, interest rates, and financial markets
โ€ข The relationship between money, savings, prosperity, and economic freedom

Our purpose is not partisan advocacy.

It is monetary education, independent inquiry, and informed discussion.

Because financial literacy can teach you how to manage your money.

Monetary literacy teaches you what the money itself isโ€”and what is happening to it.

How Much Do You Really Know About Money?

Put your knowledge to the test with our Monetary Literacy Assessment:

Test Your Monetary Knowledge

Then explore the lessons, research, tools, simulators, and educational resources available through the Foundation.

Money affects nearly every part of your life. Understanding it shouldn't be optional.

Naruto Live Action - Sakura is much stronger from the start & Naruto a history Nerd

Some intriguing new details about the upcoming live-action Naruto film have surfaced, suggesting it will remain fairly faithful to the original story, though not a completely direct adaptation. Reportedly, Sakura is much stronger from the start and already has access to her abilities. Naruto is portrayed as a ninja-history enthusiast, adding an interesting twist to his character. He wonโ€™t be romantically interested in Sakura; instead, Sasuke develops feelings for her. Sakura comes from a wealthy family, with her father dying during the Nine-Tailsโ€™ attack and her mother depicted as rich and somewhat snobbish. The film also changes how Jinchลซriki function, making it a bloodline-based ability, so only certain people can host a Tailed Beast. If true, these changes seem significant while still aiming to preserve the spirit of Naruto. As for What I, personally, think I am not going to watch it, it's going to feel like Dragon Ball Evolution Avatar Last Airbender all over again.

Elmren Voice โ€” turn documents into local audiobooks and read-along files on Mac

Hi, I'm Chong, the developer of Elmren Voice. I built it for people who want to turn documents they own or have permission to adapt into something they can listen to or read along with.

Elmren Voice runs speech generation locally on an Apple Silicon Mac. It imports TXT, PDF, DOCX and EPUB, includes 64 voices, and supports cloning your own voice or an authorized voice. Script Mode lets you assign different voices to characters.

You can export audio, chaptered M4B audiobooks, MP4 or a self-contained HTML player with word highlighting. The exported HTML can be opened in a browser on another device.

Requirements: M1 or newer, macOS 13+. Initial model downloads and license checks need internet access. A full license is $39.99 once for one Mac. The 7-day trial includes 120 minutes of synthesis without an account or payment card.

Website and app download
Browser read-along demo

I'd welcome feedback on the first document-to-audio export, especially from authors with their own manuscripts and parents using authorized reading materials.

Disclosure: this is my product; this post was prepared with AI assistance.

Footer Links Service Guidelines

The Footer Links Service allows members to request a text link in the Footer Links rotation displayed at the bottom of every page on Spark Promotion. Promote your forum, website, blog, or social media page and gain extra visibility across the community.

Each approved link will normally remain visible for a period of two weeks from the time it is added. However, if we don't receive enough requests to keep the Footer Links rotation filled, your link may remain displayed for longer than two weeks, giving you additional visibility.

After your link's display period ends, you must wait an additional two weeks before requesting the service again. This helps ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to benefit from the rotation.

Only one text link may be submitted per request. If you wish to promote another forum, website, blog, or social media page, you will need to submit a new request after the waiting period has passed.

All submitted links must lead to appropriate and legal content. Links leading to spam, malicious websites, or misleading content will be removed.

When submitting a link, provide a clear and readable text title so visitors understand where the link will take them.

Staff reserve the right to edit, remove, or decline any request that does not follow these guidelines or contains a link considered unsuitable for the service.

Once a link has been added to the Footer Links rotation, staff may mark the request thread as completed to indicate that the service has been fulfilled.

NOS: click the text on your HTML page to fix it, then share a link

I'm building NOS. It lets you fix the words on an HTML page by clicking them, then send that page to someone as a link.

Say you already have an HTML page that introduces your web service, and one line of the pitch still feels wrong before launch. Paste the HTML into NOS and you get a preview of the page. Click that line, type the new wording, and the change is written back into the original HTML too.

Then send the NOS link to whoever you want to show it to, without setting up a site of your own first. They can open it without an account. If you change the line again later, the link stays the same.

The page lives in the same workspace as your notes and docs, so your draft wording for it can be kept right there too.

You can try the samples, or paste your own HTML, edit and preview it, without signing up. You only need to sign in when you create the share link.

I drafted this post with help from AI.

15 Funny Halloween Movie Jokes for Horror Fans

Halloween is the perfect excuse to talk about horror movies! From masked killers to haunted houses, here are 15 jokes inspired by some of our favourite spooky films.

1. Scream
Ghostface calls you and asks what your favourite scary movie is. You say Scream. He replies, โ€œGood choice. You're going to love the sequel.โ€

2. Halloween
Michael Myers has been chasing Laurie Strode for decades. At this point, someone should really tell him to get a hobby.

3. A Nightmare on Elm Street
Freddy Krueger is the only villain who can ruin your sleep schedule without even leaving his house.

4. Friday the 13th
Jason Voorhees has been haunting Camp Crystal Lake for years. You'd think the council would have shut the place down by now.

5. Child's Play
Chucky is proof that you should always check the reviews before buying a doll online.

6. The Conjuring
The Warrens walk into a haunted house and immediately start looking for ghosts. I walk into a dark room and immediately look for the light switch.

7. Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice is the only guy who can get famous just by having people say his name three times. Meanwhile, I can't even get someone to reply to my texts.

8. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Jack Skellington discovers Christmas and decides to take over. Imagine if everyone who discovered a new hobby got that enthusiastic.

9. It
Pennywise lives in a sewer and still manages to have a better social life than most of us.

10. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
The characters hear a strange noise and decide to investigate. Meanwhile, I'd be halfway down the road before the opening credits finished.

11. Hocus Pocus
The Sanderson sisters return after 300 years and immediately start causing trouble. Some people really never change.

12. The Exorcist
After watching this movie, every strange noise in my house becomes a potential supernatural emergency.

13. Poltergeist
The TV starts talking to a little girl, and her family stays in the house. I'd be shopping for a new home before the next commercial break.

14. The Addams Family
The Addams family makes everyone else look like the weird neighbours. Honestly, they're probably the most entertaining people on the street.

15. Ghostbusters
If there's something strange in your neighbourhood, who are you going to call? Not me. I'm not getting paid enough to investigate that.

What's your favourite Halloween movie? And which horror movie character would you least want to meet in real life?

Do you prefer a laptop or a tablet?

Both are portable, and you can do the same things on either oneโ€”though a tablet might be a bit more awkward to use due to the lack of a keyboard (even though you can add one), and the screen is usually smaller (depending on the specific tablet model). So, which do you prefer and why? Both have their pros and cons; Iโ€™m not sure if the battery life is the same for both, but what would you rather use: a tablet or a notebook?

1000 posts at MLMF, new homepage, and lots of new updates!

1,000 Posts โ€” and a New Chapter for the Foundation

We just passed 1,000 posts at the Monetary Literacy & Mastery Foundation.

That number represents far more than a forum statistic. It represents questions asked, ideas challenged, lessons discussed, sources shared, research examined, and people taking the time to better understand the monetary system we all live within.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed, read along, asked questions, shared research, or helped shape the community. MLMF has grown considerably since we started, and reaching 1,000 posts feels like a good moment to show just how much has changed.

A Completely New Homepage

The Foundation now has a redesigned homepage built around a much clearer purpose:

Help people see the system behind their money.

The new homepage brings together the Academy, interactive learning, community discussions, featured research, monetary concepts, and the wider mission of the Foundation in one place.

It also better reflects what MLMF has become. This is no longer simply a collection of lessons. It is developing into a full monetary-education platform where you can learn the system, investigate it, experiment with it, research it, and discuss it.

A Lot Has Been Added

Over the past several months, we have been steadily expanding the Foundation with new tools, reference material, and ways to learn. Some of the newest and most important additions include:

  • Counterparty Risk Map โ€” trace what you actually own, who you depend on, what protections exist, and what can happen under financial stress across bank deposits, securities, cash, and precious metals.

  • Teaching Resources โ€” material for educators, homeschool families, and independent learners who want to introduce monetary concepts in a structured way.

  • Inflation & Purchasing Power Calculator โ€” explore inflation through more than a headline percentage and see what changing prices mean for the actual purchasing power of currency.

  • Interactive Monetary Simulators โ€” experiment with bank credit creation, the Cantillon Effect, debt, inflation, and monetary distribution instead of only reading about them.

  • Research Directory โ€” a growing collection of institutions, publications, websites, podcasts, and other sources for continuing your own research.

  • Monetary Glossary โ€” a reference library for the terminology, institutions, and concepts that appear throughout the Academy.

  • Expanded Resource Center โ€” bringing the Foundation's tools, maps, calculators, research sources, and teaching materials together in one place.

  • Improved Academy & Learning Path โ€” a clearer progression through the curriculum, documentaries, reading, and extended study.

One of the goals behind all of these additions is simple: monetary education should not stop at reading an article and memorizing a definition.

You should be able to examine a balance sheet. Trace an ownership chain. Change variables in a simulation. Compare purchasing power. Follow newly created currency through the economy. Investigate sources. Challenge assumptions. Then bring what you find back to the community for discussion.

What Comes Next

There is still a great deal more planned.

We want to continue expanding the Academy, adding interactive educational experiences, improving our research and reference material, developing teaching resources, and creating tools that make difficult monetary concepts easier to see and understand.

And the community remains an important part of that.

A lesson can explain an idea.

A simulator can demonstrate it.

Research can provide evidence.

But discussion is where people question it, test it, disagree with it, refine it, and ultimately decide what they think for themselves.

That is the kind of community we want MLMF to continue becoming.

1,000 posts is a milestone. It is not the finish line.

Thank you to everyone who helped us get here.

Learn. Investigate. Understand.
