Custom development for companies and larger communities

Custom development for companies and larger communities

We've been fortunate enough to welcome some great communities to ForumSpark so far. A few of them turned up with a list, and the list is usually the same: a custom feature their members cannot live without, single sign-on between their own website and their forum, and porting everything over from whatever software they were running before.

We said yes to all of it, and it has turned out to be a very interesting part of the job.

Custom work is a bit different here#

On most forum software, custom work means an add-on. Somebody writes it, you install it, and from that moment it is yours to worry about. Every update is a small gamble, and sooner or later you are paying someone to make it work again.

We do it the other way around. Whatever we build for you goes into ForumSpark itself, so it is tested with every release and moves along with the platform. There is nothing to install, and there is nothing for you to maintain. It simply keeps working.

So we made a page for it#

We kept answering the same questions over email, so we thought it was time to give a clearer answer in one place. The custom development page is now publicly available.

It goes through what we can actually build: brand matching, single sign-on, migrations from other software, a dedicated email address straight to us, and training calls for your team. It is also honest about the money. Enterprise starts at €299 a month and is what opens the door, and the build work itself is quoted per project before anything starts, so you always get to approve a number first.

One thing that has not changed: a standard import is still free on any plan. That was never an enterprise thing and it is not becoming one.
