Guides for running your board, from first setup to deep customization. Written for admins, with pictures.

Getting started

Welcome to ForumSpark

Updated October 21, 2026

ForumSpark is a place to run your own forum without running a server. You create a board, and everything under it is handled for you: the hosting, the updates, the backups, the security. What's left is the fun part, which is building a community.

These guides cover all of it. They're written for admins, not developers, and they assume nothing. If you've never run a forum before, start at the top of Getting started and work down; if you're here for one specific answer, the search box above finds any guide by name.

Every guide ends with a pointer to the logical next one, so you can read this documentation like a book or dip in like a manual. Both work.

A few words you'll see everywhere

Your board is your forum: your address, your members, your rules. The admin panel is where you shape it, and only your staff can see it. Members are the people who join, and guests are visitors who haven't joined yet.

When you get stuck

Search these docs first, the answer is usually a guide away. Beyond that, the ForumSpark community forum is full of admins who have hit the same thing, and boards on the Earn and Scale plans have Priority Support built into the admin panel, with answers from the team by the next day.

Ready? Start with Create your board.
