The moderation toolkit
Moderation on ForumSpark is designed to happen where the content is: right in the topic, with tools that appear for the people allowed to use them and stay invisible to everyone else. This guide is the tour of those tools.
Topic tools
Staff with moderation rights get controls on every topic: pin it to the top of its forum, lock it against new replies, move it to the right forum, edit its title and labels, or remove it. Pinning and locking cover most day-to-day steering; moving quietly keeps forums on-topic without a word of scolding.
Post tools
Individual posts can be edited, hidden or removed by staff, and members can report any post to bring it to your attention. In the modern layout, moderators can select several posts at once and act on the batch, which turns cleaning up a derailed page from ten actions into one.
The approval layer
Content can be held for approval before it goes public. New members' first contributions, everything in a specific forum, or content flagged by your filters can wait in the queue; approving is one click, and members see their own pending posts marked clearly.
Who gets which tools
All of this obeys your permission setup: forum-level moderation rights come from Community, then Forum Access, and the fine-grained staff abilities from Community, then Global Permissions. A junior moderator can genuinely have exactly the four tools you've decided they're ready for.
The strongest moderation is the kind members barely notice: moved topics, quietly merged duplicates, early locks on threads going bad. Loud moderation makes drama; boring moderation makes communities.
