Hi there! I’m Erich!
I wanted to stop in and say hello. Hope to chat with you all and exchange fun thoughts and ideas to help create better online communities.
Spark Promotion is a community where you can advertise and grow your forum, blog, social media page, or website. While it highlights forums hosted by Forum Spark, all platforms are welcome, making it a great place to connect, promote, and gain exposure.

What kind of tech do you expect to get when purchasing a new vehicle?
Hi everyone, I'm PlanJ, the maintainer of AzerothSurvivors.app. It is an independent companion for players of Azeroth Survivors, the game created by Aethus. I am sharing my own project here.
The companion brings two useful parts of build planning together:
Build library: https://azerothsurvivors.app/build-library/
Browse player-shared build ideas, search the library and filter by class.
Build calculator: https://azerothsurvivors.app/build-calculator/
Edit talents, skills and equipment, then share an editable link or export a PNG. The core browsing, editing and sharing features are free and do not require an account.
A practical way to try it is to find a build idea for a class you want to explore, open it in the calculator, change the choices to suit your plan, and share the editable version with someone else. An editable link lets the next person adapt the choices instead of starting from a screenshot.
Community builds are starting points for discussion, not universally play-tested or guaranteed best builds. The companion is not affiliated with Aethus or Blizzard; the original game is at https://wow.aethus.pl/.
I'd welcome feedback on the build-sharing workflow. When someone shares a build with you, what information is most useful to see first: talent order, equipment choices, or the reasoning behind alternatives?

Hey all
Hey everyone! 😊
I'm looking to have a custom theme designed for Spark Promotion, and I'm happy to pay for the work.
I'm not entirely sure what I want the theme to look like just yet, so I'm open to ideas and suggestions. I'd love something modern, professional, and fitting for a forum promotion community.
A few things I'm looking for:
- A custom, unique design for Spark Promotion.
- Both light and dark mode options.
- A responsive design that works well on desktop and mobile.
- A theme that is exclusive to Spark Promotion and not resold or shared with other forums.
As I'm paying for a custom design, exclusivity is important to me. I want something that is made specifically for Spark Promotion.
If you're a theme designer interested in taking on this project, please let me know what you can offer, examples of your previous work, and how much you'd charge.
I'm happy to discuss ideas and work together to come up with something great!
Thanks! 😊
Smartphones and the internet have become such a big part of everyday life that imagining a month without either can be difficult. We use them for communication, entertainment, work, shopping and staying informed. Losing access to one could seriously disrupt our routines.
Would you rather go an entire month without internet access or give up your smartphone for a month? Which would be harder for you?
The early days of the internet felt very different from what we have today. From simple websites and chat rooms to internet cafés and downloading music, there were plenty of experiences that made going online exciting. Things seem faster and more advanced now, but some of those old experiences are still missed.
What's one thing you genuinely miss about the early days of the internet, and do you think the online world was better back then?
Online advertisements are everywhere these days, from websites and social media platforms to streaming services and mobile apps. While they help businesses reach potential customers, constant pop-ups, banners and video ads can make browsing frustrating.
Do you think the internet is becoming too crowded with advertisements, or are ads simply part of the price we pay for accessing free online content?
Given that we live in an era where AI is used for almost everything and is present everywhere, do you think it’s a good idea to use AI to design the theme for my website? I mean having AI directly create the theme or design that I want to use for my site—do you think that’s a good idea or not? Have you ever done it yourself?
Would you rather take a guaranteed $1,000 cash right now, or flip the coin for a 50% chance to win $10,000 (and 50% chance to walk away with nothing)?
Mathematically, the gamble has a much higher expected value and honestly, a grand isn't going to change much anyway, whereas $10k could actually clear a serious debt or fund a major goal.
Which option are you locking in, and why?
I wish I knew that age catches up faster because the jobs I did when I was 20, I can't do them anymore without going through pains. I also wish I knew that school is not the only path to success. What about you?
I don't get bored too often because my phone always has something I can use to while away time. I run to TikTok or YouTube shorts any time I feel bored. I also binge my favourite shows too. How do you deal with boredom?
https://discord.gg/ethereal will take you to Ethereal, the SFW Discord community we look after, now at 34k+ members. People trade matching pfps, banners and status layouts in our decor channels, and a question of the day keeps things fresh. The main chat is active at most hours, so new faces always get a reply.
When starting a new forum, it is always best to start a forum based on your interests rather than chasing what is trending or popular at the time, especially if you have no interest in a specific niche that is currently trending or popular.
Unfortunately, sometimes niches that you have an interest in can be oversaturated, meaning it would take being unique to make your forum stand out in the crowd.
What do you feel is the most oversaturated niche in the forum world at the moment?
Over the years, I have used quite a few different hosting companies, and only one was the absolute worst.
When I first started creating forums, my dad suggested a hosting company he had been using: BigWetFish Hosting. I went with them, and for a while, their hosting was perfect, but a few years down the line, I started having issues with a lot of downtime and even slow loading.
I later found out that they had started hosting way too many different websites on the same servers through their shared hosting, which was causing issues, so I eventually moved.
What has been the worst hosting company you have ever used?
I've been thinking about the little features that can make a forum so much better to use.
Whether it's a handy notification system, profile customisation, a good search function, reputation points, or something completely different, there are plenty of features that can make a community more enjoyable.
What's one feature you wish every forum had, and why? I'd be interested to hear what other forum owners and webmasters think!

Since, one way or another, I’ll inevitably have to pay to create my own website—so that it doesn’t end up covered in hideous watermarks from using a free platform—what is currently the cheapest way to build my own website?
Your website domain is extremely important; it provides an identity even before someone visits the site. Since the name is significant, you must ensure that you are the only one who holds it. However, domains aren't always cheap—in fact, they can often be quite expensive. That’s why I’d like to know: where can I find affordable domains for my website?
It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything related to SEO. I know that up until five years ago, it was still highly relevant; but today, with the SEO niche completely saturated—and with AI identifying every possible opening to gain an edge—my question is: does SEO still work, or is it no longer effective?

There are so many blogging platforms out there. Some of them are quite cool. Blogspot is one such kind of free blogging platform that allows you to create a free blog for yourself. I have tried it, but I never liked its built-in themes, as they do not look professional. That's one of the main reasons why I don't use it. So, have you ever tried it? What are your views about it?;
Out of the two, which one do you personally use for your website(s) or communities and what is the reasoning behind why you choose what you did? Do you have any regrets, or any suggestions for others who might be asking themselves this question in the future?
Chatbots have been around for a long time, but previously they were only used to answer very basic questions—for instance, simply providing links to FAQs. Now, thanks to AI, they are no longer just impersonal, rigid tools; they can engage in actual conversations and attempt to provide solutions. Is it a good idea to have an AI chatbot on my website? If so, which one would you recommend?
