Build Themes on a Test Board

For the best theme development experience, we recommend building and testing your theme directly on a real forum. This gives you a live, accurate preview of how your theme will look and behave.

Recommended workflow

  1. 1 Create a development board — a private forum to use as your development environment.
  2. 2 Use the Theme Editor — go to ACP → Appearance → Theme to customise colours, fonts, and layout with a live preview of your actual forum.
  3. 3 Add Custom CSS — for advanced styling, use the Custom CSS editor in the theme settings to fine-tune your design.
  4. 4 Export your theme — once you're happy with the result, export it as a package from the admin panel and upload it as a developer app.
