I am Carlos Monzon from Power CM Software. I run BTC PoW Lab, a website documenting research into how Bitcoin proof of work is computed and measured.

The experiment archive has 95 entries covering SHA256, candidate evaluation and hardware testing. Each entry explains the question, the method, the result and its limits. Failed ideas stay in the archive too.

For example, finding a shortcut inside one calculation does not establish that a miner will use less electricity or find more blocks. The archive separates those claims so readers can see what was actually tested.

The site is available in English and Spanish, and the research pages are free to read. If you enjoy technical projects or have experience presenting detailed research on the web, I would appreciate feedback on whether the experiment pages are easy to follow.

There are some franchises that died and they deserve to be revisited, like "The Matrix", it still has a lot of potential. It has good content and people are still hungry for good content. They can remake them with better production values. So which one would you bring back?

This is like a waiting game that can make someone lose their mind. You go through stress to publish content, you submit sitemap and still Google ignores you like your site didn't exist at all. Some people say it will take 2-3 weeks for google to start showing yours site in search results, others say it will take 3-6 months for new domains with zero authority. What do you think?

Horror movies are not the same for everyone. I know a couple of people that are scared of ghosts, others are actually scared of anything psychological because it messes with their mind. For me, "The Conjuring" is up there. That movie really created tension and it scares me seriously.

How soon do you wait after a member joins your forum before you'll make him/her staff?

When you do a post exchange with someone, do you try to spread your posts throughout the entire forum, or do you concentrate on one specific area?

What do you expect from the person doing an exchange on your forum?

If you employed any staff in helping to run and manage your community, how do you pay them?

Do you pay them weekly or monthly or yearly or you doing pay them at all because you only hire free volunteers?

How do you find people who have tech knowledge to help on your forum that you can trust?

Earlier this week, I set out to design my first Affiliate Web Button. You know, those little buttons that are 88x31px, and I have to say that in the process of designing my first one, I've learned quite a bit. I'm not 100% happy with what I created, but it's a start. It simply has the name of the site, and the imagery exclaims something about what the site is about, Anime. But I feel the eyes also tell something deeper. The eyes are expressive, and inform about the character, and that's a core component to role playing, because without the characters, you have no game, and no story to tell.

Anyway, the point of this post is to discuss what you found works best for this form of advertisement, what's absolutely critical to include in a web button like this, and what's sometimes done incorrectly?

Have you ever received criticism about your forum, that eventually you realized was actually true? What happened? Did you change things because of that criticism?

Another great way to help build up content and also engagement in your forum is to take part in forum post exchanges with other forum owners.

This is something that I have done quite often in the past, and as much as it can help with content and engagement, a lot of the time, the quality of the content is not always high or the greatest.

How often do you tend to promote your websites? Do you delicate a few hours per week where you do nothin but promote your websites, or do you promote every other week?

What's your go to tactic in regards to promoting your websites?

Over the years, I have used many different hosting providers, and I remember the first one I ever went with was BigWetFishhosting, which was until I found out that when using their shared hosting, you were sharing with around 200 - 300 others, which caused slow loading and a lot of downtime.

Now I use NameCheap and haven't had any issues with them in the year almost that I have been with them.

Who is your favourite hosting provider?

When I checked my forum stats, I saw that people join, post one or two replies and then leave. but inviting their friends? I haven't seen that happen. Meanwhile, I have a referral bonus in place. It seems everybody was just consuming and leaving. Sometimes I feel like focusing on organic growth alone. What do you think?

I was reviewing my forum categories this afternoon and I feel it's too choked. I thought of splitting it, but I was thinking about its effect on the forum engagement. There was a time I split one section, the activity dropped so much. In this case, there is growth but the structure is messy. What do you think I should do?

The biggest forum that I ever built from the ground up had 270,000 posts, and over 10,000 members. This was my second version of VPL, and I'm a firm believer that I will do it again and break my biggest forum's record in the near future.

I have received many complaint about scam on my DM severally. Then warn people, pin relevant posts to educate them and drop announcements still, some people would still fall victim. Even with all these efforts, some users still trust random DMs more.
