Other hobbies?
DramaK said:

Hiking is a huge hobby for me! My husband and I are so excited that this weekend will be warmer weather so we get to go hiking. The trails might be a bit muddy though from all of the melting snow!

I haven't been hiking in forever. It's something I use to do as a kid and teenager (use to be in Girl Scouts). Once I graduate from high school, all of us girls kinda went our separate ways and I never went hiking again.

Harry Potter tv show
Gizmo said:

It's gonna be odd having a dark Snape but I'm all for watching the show.

It'll be different for sure.

I'm still trying to get use to the idea that John Lithgow is suppose to be Dumbledore.

Too heavy?
DramaK said:

How heavy is your e-reader? I have a Kindle Fire that I use to read and it really wrecks my wrists/hand because it's just too heavy. I considered getting a lighter e-reader, but didn't want to spend the money.

I have a Kindle Fire as well. It does feel a little bit heavier than the physical books I have around. The only exception is the few illustrated copies I have of the Harry Potter books 1 through 5 and the illustrated copy of Eragon). Those weigh more than my Kindle.

I don't think I'd switch my Kindle Fire out for another e-reader or tablet.....not unless this one decides to kick the bucket for some unknown reason.

But I see your point. I can understand getting one that is lighter and won't hurt your wrists.

"The Folcroft Ghosts"

Book: The Fulcroft Ghosts

Author: Darcy Coates

Genre: Horror/Fiction

Age Range: Adult

Format: Paperback

Review: I finished reading this last night and I thought I'd share. This particular author is usually my auto buy author when I'm looking for something scary to read from the horror genre. While the story lines were good, and the ending was a complete surprise, I couldn't help feeling like this wasn't as scary as her books usually are. This won't put me off as far as reading future material from this author, don't get me wrong.....I still have other books I plan on reading from this author. This book was more of a suspense/thriller than something from the horror genre.

Synopsis: When their mother is hospitalized, Tara and Kyle are sent to stay with their only remaining relatives. Their elderly grandparents seem friendly at first, and the rambling house is full of fun nooks and crannies to explore. But strange things keep happening. A bedroom remains locked at all times. Doors slam and curtains shift when no one is inside. And there are whispers of a sister who drowned in the lake long ago.Something is being hidden away, kept safely out of sight...and the children can't shake the feeling that it's watching them. When a violent storm cuts off their only contact with the outside world, stranding them in the haunted manor, Tara and Kyle must find a way to protect themselves from their increasingly erratic grandparents… and from the ghosts that haunt the Folcrofts' house. All at once, they're forced to confront the secrets of the manor. But can they ever hope to escape the unforgivable secret that has ensnared their family for generations?

Hi, It's Kat!!

I don't have many physical books anymore, but I love to read on my kindle :)

Welcome, Kat!

What kind of e-books do you have on your Kindle?

I like the young adult ones, sometimes the fantasy ones about fairies/wolves/vampires and every now and again a good mystery.

I move back and forth between different genres when I read.

  • fantasy
  • mystery
  • horror
  • suspense/thriller
  • romance (occasionally)
  • historical fiction (occasionally)
  • crime drama (occasionally)

I will do young adult and fiction as long as the story lines hold my attention.

See a "Book of the Month" event here?

Would you like to see a "Book of the Month" event?

Basically, the community would get to vote on a book and then read it together and discuss together when everyone is finished.

How much time....?

How much time do you dedicate to marketing or promoting your work?

Do you think you spend enough time doing that?

How many times have you watched the movies?

Do you have Harry Potter marathons where you just sit down and watch all the movies together?
