Cloud storage vs. physical hard drives

Do you believe that google, iCloud, whatever they call it would keep your important files forever? I lost three years of photos because my phone fell into a bucket of water, and nobody was there to comfort me. Now I'm on a double-backup system. I use the cloud and external hard drive now. Anytime I need any of those files, I just go to Google, very simple.

Tech you bought recently that exceeded your expectations

I need to testify to this. I bought a small inverter setup two months ago, partly because I was tired of the unstable electricity. They turn off the light when it matters the most. That really makes my work seamless. Maybe it's the best money I've spent this year. My fan runs, my WiFi router stays on and my laptop is fully charged too.

A task you gave an AI model that it completely failed at

AI is not perfect, it's still evolving. I asked AI to help me calculate how much I'd spend on foodstuff in a month and it gave me a number that makes me laughed for like three minutes. It was giving me a 2019 price which is very horrible. It really failed in that aspect woefully.

Tabbed Categories

Preview

This code allows you to tab through categories to show an individual category on button click, or clicking the Show All button will show all categories. The choice you make is saved via localStorage, meaning if you click “Cat #1” the “Cat #1” category will only show when you refresh the page.

Admin CP → Themes → Board Templates → Below the board

<script>
const headerLinks = document.querySelectorAll('.forumlist section header a');
const tabbedDIV = document.createElement('div');
tabbedDIV.className = 'tabbed-categories';
tabbedDIV.innerHTML = `<button type="button" class="btn btn-small show-all-cat" style="text-transform: none">Show All</button>`;
document.querySelector('.forumlist').prepend(tabbedDIV);

headerLinks.forEach((el) => {
    const button = document.createElement('button');
    button.type = 'button';
    button.className = 'btn btn-small show-forum';
    button.style.textTransform = 'none';
    button.innerText = el.innerText;
    document.querySelector('.tabbed-categories').append(button);
});

document.querySelector('.show-all-cat').addEventListener('click', (event) => {
    localStorage.removeItem('show-forum');
    const cats = document.querySelectorAll('.forumlist section');

    cats.forEach((el) => {
        el.style.display = 'block';
    });

    const buttons = document.querySelectorAll('.show-forum');

    buttons.forEach((el) => {

        el.classList.add('btn-small');
    });

    event.currentTarget.classList.remove('btn-small');
    event.currentTarget.classList.add('btn-primary');
});

Brooks Cascadia 20

I've heard good things about the Brooks Cascadia line. Comfort is especially important on trail runs, so it's a good sign that they're already feeling better than your old Merrells. I'm curious how they'll perform once you've put 50–100 miles on them. Have you noticed any difference in grip and stability so far?

Fastpacking gear

Never done this before, but it actually does sound fun. I will probably have to research the right gears to use when I finally decide to try it, though.

Is travelling more enjoyable with friends or alone?

Travelling with friends can make every experience more fun, from exploring new places and trying local food to sharing unexpected adventures. However, travelling alone offers freedom, independence and the opportunity to explore at your own pace without worrying about anyone else's preferences.

Do you enjoy travelling more with friends, where you can share the memories, or alone, where you have complete freedom to do whatever you want?

Would you travel alone to another country?

Travelling to another country alone can be an exciting experience. You get to explore new places, meet different people and make your own decisions without having to accommodate anyone else's plans. However, dealing with unfamiliar environments, language barriers and safety concerns can also be challenging.

Would you feel comfortable travelling alone to a foreign country, or would you rather have a friend or family member accompany you?

Cycling Tights

Do any of you wear tights or bib-tights in the cooler cycling months?

If yes, what brands are you going with these days?

Do you use ones with the padding built in or do you go with unpadded and wear them over padded shorts?

Do you use fenders on your gravel bike?

Many might add them to prevent dirt and grime from splashing up. Do you use them?

If not, why not?

MTB Shorts

When mountain biking, do you wear baggy mountain biking shorts, or do you stick to spandex-styled cycling shorts/bibs?

I prefer wearing the spandex-styled cycling bib shorts for all types of cycling.

Chinese bikes

Brands like QuickPro and XLab give cyclists a really nice bike with nice components and frame materials at less cost than what major manufacturers are charging.

It’s impacting major bike brands so much that they’re lowering their prices to complete with the Chinese brands.

How do you feel about these brands? Would you use their bikes? Why or why not?

Running underwear

On Nov 1, 2026, Augusta said:

Yes,I used my underwear it's always my compression shorts as they help me prevent chafing in the inner thighs. It is a lot great with cooler conditions as it reduced muscle fatigue for me as well.

I wear half tights/compression shorts or tights as my main layer for running. Some have inner liners.

I wore Janji half tights with an inner liner for my 50K and stayed very comfortable the whole time.
