🚗 Road Trip or Flying — Which Do You Prefer?

ROn Oct 25, 2026, Augusta said:

It is road trips for me anytime, any day. I have huge phobia for flying . I know flying gets you to your destination swiftly. But I can't go pass the scare and fear that comes with turbulence. So I do more of road travels and I prefer it than flying.

Flying phobia is real because I have a friend who is battling with it as well. I don't have any phobia for flying but I just prefer road trip as it gives you total control. So, you can stop when you want, see places, and enjoy the journey.

GamingDNA

IT'S HERE! GAMINGDNA VERSION 3 HAS OFFICIALLY ARRIVED!

After months of planning, designing, developing, testing, tweaking, fixing and probably consuming far too much caffeine, we're incredibly excited to finally welcome everyone to the next chapter of GamingDNA! This isn't just a fresh coat of paint. Version 3 represents a huge step forward for GamingDNA, bringing together a refreshed experience, improved features, new community opportunities and a whole lot of new things to explore. We've put a tremendous amount of work into getting here, and now it's your turn to jump in, have a look around and make yourself at home. So, what exactly have we been working on?

🏠 A FRESH NEW GAMINGDNA EXPERIENCE

We've given GamingDNA a significant visual refresh, with a much more polished and consistent look across the platform. Some of the improvements include: A redesigned homepage, making it easier to discover what's happening across GamingDNA. Updated layouts and styling throughout the website. Improved presentation of community content. Refined navigation and user experience. A cleaner, more modern design that brings everything together. We've wanted GamingDNA to feel like a proper gaming community, and Version 3 takes another big step towards that vision.

🏆 ACHIEVEMENTS & XBOX GAMING

Achievements have always been a huge part of gaming for many of us, and we've been putting plenty of attention into improving this side of GamingDNA. Version 3 brings improvements to our Xbox gaming features, including: Improved Xbox Game Library – A better way to browse and explore your gaming collection. Achievement Search & Filtering – Find the achievements you're looking for with improved searching, filtering and sorting. Achievement Statistics – Explore your gaming progress and achievement activity. Achievement Guides – Discover helpful guides to get you through those difficult, frustrating or time-consuming unlocks. Community Unlockers – See how other GamingDNA members have been progressing with their achievements. Whether you're a casual achievement hunter or someone who absolutely refuses to leave a game at 99%, there's plenty to explore!

🎖️ TROPHIES, BADGES & REWARDS

What's a gaming community without a little competition and recognition? We've continued expanding our trophy and badge features, giving members more ways to showcase their activity and achievements around GamingDNA. Keep an eye out for: New secret badges waiting to be discovered. Special date-based badges. Xbox achievement milestone rewards. Gamerscore milestone rewards. Monthly challenges. Monthly challenge winner recognition. More opportunities to earn recognition within the community. Some rewards are easy to find, while others might require a little detective work. We won't be giving away all the secrets just yet! Keep exploring. You never know what you might unlock.

📰 INTRODUCING THE GAMINGDNA NEWS TEAM

Gaming moves incredibly quickly. Between game announcements, release dates, updates, industry developments and surprise reveals, there's always something happening. That's why we're introducing the GamingDNA News Team! Our News Team will be working to bring you the latest stories from across the gaming industry, helping keep the community informed about what's happening in the world of gaming. From Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo to PC gaming, developers, publishers and everything in between, we'll be keeping our eyes on the news. Expect regular articles, interesting stories and plenty to talk about. Apply to join this team by emailing [email protected].

📖 INTRODUCING THE GAMINGDNA GUIDES TEAM

Ever been stuck on an achievement and wished someone had explained exactly what you needed to do? We've got you covered! Our new GamingDNA Guides Team will be working on building a growing library of achievement guides to help fellow gamers along their journey. We're aiming to provide useful, original content that goes beyond simply repeating an achievement description. Whether it's a tricky boss, a difficult challenge, a hidden requirement or a particularly frustrating achievement, our goal is to help you get that unlock. And, of course, if you've got knowledge to share, we'd love to see you contributing too! Apply to join this team by emailing [email protected].

🎤 GAMINGDNA COMMUNITY INTERVIEWS

GamingDNA is about the people behind the usernames just as much as the games themselves. Our community interviews give members the opportunity to share their gaming history, favourite memories, unpopular opinions, gaming habits and everything in between. Each month we'll be putting a different member in the spotlight, asking a selection of gaming questions and giving everyone a chance to get to know them a little better. It's a great way to discover who's behind the controller and what makes our community tick.

🤝 THE COMMUNITY IS WHAT MATTERS

We can build features, create guides, publish news and redesign the website, but none of it means much without the people who use it.

GamingDNA has always been about bringing gamers together. It's about discussing the latest releases, sharing gaming memories, helping each other out, celebrating achievements, finding people to play with and occasionally arguing about which console is better! We want this to be a place where everyone feels welcome, whether you've been gaming for decades or have only just picked up your first controller. You don't need to be an achievement hunter, own every console or play the latest releases. If you enjoy gaming, there's a place for you here.

🔮 WHAT'S NEXT FOR GAMINGDNA?

Although Version 3 is a massive milestone, this isn't the finish line. We have plenty of ideas for the future, and we'll continue improving GamingDNA as the community grows. We'll be listening to feedback, identifying areas that need improvement and looking at new features that can make the platform even better. Some things will take time, some ideas will evolve, and some surprises might appear along the way. One thing is certain: we're not done yet!

❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU!

Before we let you loose on Version 3, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported GamingDNA. Whether you've been here since the beginning, joined recently, contributed to discussions, reported issues, offered suggestions or simply popped in to see what's happening, we appreciate you being part of this journey. A special thank you also goes to everyone who has helped test, develop, improve and shape the platform. Getting to this point has taken a lot of time and effort, and we couldn't be more excited to finally share it with you. GamingDNA wouldn't be GamingDNA without its community.

🎮 YOUR NEXT CHAPTER STARTS NOW!

So go ahead! Explore the new homepage, check out your profile, browse the achievement library, discover some badges, read the latest news, check out our guides and get involved in the discussions. Have a look around and let us know what you think. Found something that isn't working quite right? Let us know. Got an idea for something you'd love to see? Tell us. Want to contribute to the community? We'd love to hear from you. This is your community as much as it is ours, and we're excited to see what we can build together.

WELCOME TO GAMINGDNA VERSION 3!

Games. People. Community.

Co-Owner Betrayal?

Not steal, but I was a mod on a forum where the 2 admins fell one. One left and took half the members with them for new forum. It killed both sites in the end.

Children Forum Staff

I wouldn’t allow child staff members nowadays.

In fact, you have to be 18 or older to be on any of my forums.

Too much liability.

But like many of you, I was a teenager (under 18) when I made my first forum.

Cheap but good treadmills

On Oct 29, 2026, eLdavis said:

I’d look for a folding treadmill with adjustable incline, a sturdy frame, and a good warranty. The XTERRA TR150 is worth checking out, but remember its incline is manual.

Sure, that’s not a bad idea, but you don’t really need something that specific—you can do quite a lot with regular tape. That said, in an ideal scenario, the type of tape you’re suggesting would work perfectly for this purpose; the only issue is that I’m not sure everyone would have the financial means to buy it.

Automod

I’d like to see a couple things for this enhanced.

  1. Allow labels to be assigned to topics from the automod tool.

  2. Allow BB code or styling to the automod within the admin CP, as of right now it doesn’t seem like I can bold certain things or insert images.

  3. Make it where you can either post it directly into the topic OR you can insert an editable template into the quick reply or regular reply and you can insert things into the post itself.

As of right now, it doesn’t seem to allow that after some testing.

Pokémon Haven

If I was doing something Pokémon related, this would easily be my choice of theme. The sidebar widget to register is gorgeous, the header is phenomenal and I think the choice of font was great as well.

Extension Creation Etiquette

Cory said:

Won’t this make it where server-side scripting can be used when creating extensions?

On a self-hosted install, yes: it's your own server, so you can run whatever you like there. Extensions in the marketplace that can be installed on hosted boards are a different story, to be honest. They won't run third-party PHP on our servers. That's the isolation I mentioned: one extension must never be able to reach another board's data or the platform. Hosted extensions are built from templates, settings, scripts and widgets. If you need server-side logic, it runs on your own service and talks to the board through the API and webhooks. So yes, extensions can have a server side, it just lives with you and not inside ForumSpark. But we’re still looking into this to allow 3rd party apps if/when we go the self hosted route.

Cory said:

Here’s an example of a code I use store and grab data from a forum/topic to display on the user’s main profile: https://scripts.jcodesresources.com/main-profile/feedback-system/script.js

a feedback forum with one topic per member, replies written as rating~comment, and a score and table on the profile. You have two ways to do it here.

  1. A straight port (closest to what you have now)

A script extension is loaded on every forum page, including member profiles, so it can work like your Jcink version: read the member ID from the profile URL (/users/{id}-{name}), load that member's feedback topic from the same board, read the replies and build the panel. You don't need a server. Two notes:

- The script scanner flags fetch() and XMLHttpRequest. That doesn't block approval, but you'll need to explain in your submission that the script only reads the board's own feedback forum.

- Like on Jcink, reading the topic's HTML depends on the theme's markup. A board with a very different theme may need the selectors adjusted.

2. The sturdier version (with a small service)

Your service subscribes to the board's replies/create, replies/update and replies/delete webhooks. Each one includes the reply's topic, so you can check through the API whether it's in the feedback forum. Then parse the rating, update that member's totals and store them. You can put small totals in App Data (up to 50 keys and 64KB per value per board). Keep full comment history on your own service. The profile then shows ready-made numbers without reading any page HTML, so the theme doesn't matter. 🙂

Trail running in the rain

No please, first I would get wet. Infact, the risks are real but manageable. The first is getting cold: when wet and exposed to wind, the body loses heat quickly, especially when you stopped running. Your shoes get soaked and everywhere might be muddy. It isn't worth it for me.

Running every day

On Oct 30, 2026, NeonShadow said:

No, it’s not just for those who lack discipline. You could have the best discipline in the world, but your body—like anyone else’s—gets tired and absolutely needs to rest in order to have the energy to exercise. If you don’t rest, your performance will decline to the point where continuing to run no longer makes sense; you absolutely must have rest days.

We are on the same page. The discipline was for some people. If you do yours daily that's fine but some persons are physically lazy and wouldn't want to take a run even when they are free. That's the set of people I was referring to. But anyhow, we just have to keep ourselves fit by taking a run as often as we can.
