The post editor
Every reply box on a ForumSpark board is the same modern editor, built on TipTap: what you see while writing is exactly what your post will look like. No preview button, no markup to memorize, and everything below is a click or a keystroke away.
The essentials
Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, headings, lists, quotes, links and colors live in the toolbar, and the shortcuts you know from everywhere else work here: Ctrl B, Ctrl I, Ctrl U, Ctrl Z to undo, Ctrl Y to redo. The undo history runs deep, so experiment freely.
Search and replace
Press Ctrl F inside the editor and a search bar docks under the toolbar: find every occurrence in your draft, jump between matches, match case if you need to, and replace one or all of them. Long posts and pasted documents stop being archaeology.
Images that behave
Get an image in however you like: drag it onto the editor, paste it from your clipboard, or insert it by URL. Once it's placed, click it and a small toolbar appears for sizing (25, 50, 75 or full width) and alignment (left, center or right), so pictures sit where you want them instead of where they landed.
Smart typing
The editor quietly polishes as you type: straight quotes become curly ones, double hyphens become dashes, three dots become a proper ellipsis. Type a smiley like :) and it becomes the real thing, and your board's own emoticon codes appear as you finish them. Typing a hex color like #35a377 shows a small swatch of the color itself, a favorite among theme tinkerers.
Spoilers
The spoiler block hides anything (text, images, whole sections) behind a blurred cover until the reader chooses to reveal it. Select what you've written, click the spoiler button, and the ending you're discussing stays yours to know.
Blocks for everything else
Tables: full table editing with rows, columns, merged cells and resizing.
Code blocks: syntax highlighting with a language picker, plus inline code for short snippets.
YouTube: paste a video in as an embedded player.
GIFs and emoji: pickers for both, right in the toolbar.
Mentions: type @ and a name to notify someone.
Link cards: paste a link on its own line and it unfurls into a preview card after posting.
Your draft looks after itself
The editor saves your draft locally as you type. Close the tab, lose your connection, or step away for coffee, and your words are waiting when you come back to the same page.
Board admins choose which editor features are available, so a deliberately minimal board may not show everything above. If a button is missing, that's a choice, not a bug.
