Outlet snippets
Sometimes you don't want to redesign a surface, you just want to add one small thing to it: a badge under every avatar, a line after every topic title. Outlet snippets do exactly that, without touching the design around them.
How outlets work
The stock designs carry named outlets: fixed points where your snippets can plug in. The post rail has outlets below the avatar and after the member details; topic rows have them around the title and stats; the profile card has its own. A snippet is a tiny template attached to one outlet, and it inherits all the variables of its surface.
Adding one
On Appearance, then Custom Templates, find the outlets section and press Add snippet on the surface you want.
Pick the exact outlet position, name your snippet so future-you knows what it is, and write the small template.
Save. It renders instantly at that position, for every member.
Snippets stack: several can share one outlet, you control their order, and each has its own on-off toggle so you can bench one without deleting it.
Snippets are the gentlest entry into templates because the blast radius is tiny: your snippet either shows or it quietly doesn't, and the design around it never breaks. A trust level badge under the avatar is the classic first snippet.
