Template add-ons

Updated October 11, 2026

Template add-ons are small packs you install from the extension directory: a few template snippets, sometimes some profile fields, sometimes a bit of styling. They change how parts of your board look without you touching any code. Think character sheets under every avatar for roleplay boards, or gamer tags for gaming communities.

Installing one

Go to Admin panel → Extensions → Browse directory and pick anything with the Template add-on type. One click installs it. If the add-on comes with profile fields (like Character name), those are created for you and members can fill them in on their profile right away.

Installed snippets show up on your Custom Templates page with a badge showing which add-on they came from. You can switch them off, reorder them, or duplicate one as your own if you want to restyle it. Updating an add-on updates its own pieces and never touches things you made yourself.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling removes the snippets and styling. Profile fields stay, along with everything members typed into them, unless you tick the option to remove those too.

Sharing your own

Built something nice in Custom Templates? On that page, choose Export as add-on, pick which snippets and fields to include, and you get a file other boards can install. Publish it through the developer portal and it lands in every board's directory.

Some add-ons show live numbers from outside services, like a Discord online count. The service pushes those numbers using a token you find on the extension's page in your admin panel, under App data. Keep that token secret, and regenerate it there if it ever leaks.
